Italian prosecutors in Turin called yesterday for an eight months’ imprisonment of Erri de Luca (Naples 1950). The writer, several of whose books are available at the UvA-Library (search for author’s name), expressed in 2013 his sympathy for the opponents to the project of an environmentally controversial high-speed railway-line between Turin and Lyon. De Luca’s use of the word ‘sabotage’ in his interviews has been at the centre of both prosecutors’ and lawyers’ arguments.
To learn more about the railway project: opponents include both Italian (NoTAV) and French (noTAV Savoie) activists. LTF-Lyon Turin Ferroviaire is the French-Italian consortium responsible for the project (and for starting De Luca’s prosecution).
